It's February, so unless you love darkness and cold (or are smart and live somewhere warm) you might need all the help you can get getting through this month. Luckily, February's birthstone is amethyst, and amethyst is here to help!
Amethyst has healing powers, both physically and mentally. Amethyst can help with impatience and promote calm, which is PERFECT if you're like me and are literally counting down the days till the best day of the year - Daylight Savings (March 14th, baby!).
The word amethyst comes from the greek word ametusthos meaning "not intoxicated." So if you've been hitting the red wine a little too hard it can help sober you up. This also applies to de-toxifying a physical space and removing negative energy. If you have a problematic roommate or coworker that has been bothering you . . . throw amethyst at them! (Jk, but if someone I didn't like threw gemstones at me I'd probably like them more).
As an added bonus, amethyst is a gorgeous stone. I generally only work in green amethyst rather than the more commonly known purple version of the gemstone. Green amethyst is an underrated, beautiful stone that pairs surprisingly well with other gemstones. I generally only design with single gemstones and rarely mix them, but green amethyst is the #1 stone that I make an exception for. Something about it just works.
Welp, there we have it. Amethyst is the cure to all of your problems! Luckily, we have lots of it here at DLJ.
